Note that this is only for the PPC as we do not have actual processes.
Keeping track of other modules' UIDs/GIDs is virtually useless anyway.

* ES_DIVerify
ES_SetUid is not implemented yet because it'd need further changes.

'z' and uppercase 'A' (underscores).
MySims Kingdom has the files "terrainLightMapTinted.shader",

"terrainLightMapTinted_no_shadow.shader" comes before
"terrainLightMapTinted.shader" and "terrainLightMapTintedGrid.shader",
which is invalid.

Dolphin assumes that content 0 is opening.bnr, without checking
whether content 0 exists or if it is even supposed to be there (it's
only there for channels). This results in sometimes reading garbage.
This adds a check to only try to read names from content 0's header
if the title is a channel (channel, system channel or game channel).
The Tools > Load System Menu option displays the version of the
installed Wii Menu. This commit changes the way we display that
version, like so: "Load System Menu 514P" -> "Load System Menu 4.3E"
The numbers are from http://wiibrew.org/wiki/System_Menu
5.0-2712 made ES's code for setting the game ID use the
title ID converted to hex (except for disc titles) instead
of using a 6-char game ID like before. Then, 5.0-2830 made
us use that code even when loading game INIs. This breaks the
expectations of both users and the game INIs we ship with.
This commit makes Dolphin use 6-char game IDs for all
titles (unless the 6-char ID would contain unprintable
characters, which is the case with e.g. the Wii Menu).
I'm also putting unprintability checks in VolumeWad
for consistency.
Advantages:
* Simpler code in general
* No extra volume objects created
* Now actually notices if the disc or partition gets
changed while the core is running
* No longer picks up on disc access done by the GUI
(it used to do so as long as the core was running)
* Gets rid of a Core dependency in DiscIO
There are two performance disadvantages:
* FileMonitor is now a bit slower when used with VolumeDirectory
because FileMonitor now always uses the FileSystemGCWii code
for finding filenames instead of VolumeDirectory finding the
filename on its own and directly hooking into FileMonitor.
But this isn't such a big deal, because it's happening on the
DVD thread, and my currently unmerged file system PR will make
FileSystemGCWii's file finding code about as fast as
VolumeDirectory's.
* FileMonitor's creation of the file system object is now
done on the CPU thread instead of the DVD thread, and
it will be done even if FileMonitor logging is disabled.
This will be fixed in the next commit.
There's no point in creating a volume without a blob,
since essentially all the functionality of a volume
requires a blob to be used.
Also, VolumeCreator doesn't support creating volumes
without blobs (it can't even figure out the volume type
unless it gets a blob), so it's currently impossible
for a volume to be created without a blob.
Most of the Volume code was written before this
convenience function was added. Let's use it more.
Also deleting m_pReader nullptr checks that are
unnecessary because of Read (which ReadSwapped calls)
already having a nullptr check.
This moves all the byte swapping utilities into a header named Swap.h.
A dedicated header is much more preferable here due to the size of the
code itself. In general usage throughout the codebase, CommonFuncs.h was
generally only included for these functions anyway. These being in their
own header avoids dumping the lesser used utilities into scope. As well
as providing a localized area for more utilities related to byte
swapping in the future (should they be needed). This also makes it nicer
to identify which files depend on the byte swapping utilities in
particular.
Since this is a completely new header, moving the code uncovered a few
indirect includes, as well as making some other inclusions unnecessary.
This changes ES to keep track of the active title properly,
just like IOS:
* It is NOT changed on resource manager open/close.
* It is reset on IOS reload.
* It is changed by ES_DIVerify and ES_Launch.
IOS stores the active title in a structure like this:
struct ESTitleContext
{
Ticket* ticket;
TMD* tmd;
u32 active;
};
With this commit, we also do keep the Ticket and TMD around. This
makes some of the DI ioctlvs (which return data about the current
active title) trivial to implement in the future.
This fixes the System Menu not being able to see update partitions
and also allows us to change Dolphin's active game info in the future.
We already have a TMDReader, so let's actually use it.
And move ESFormats to IOS::ES, since it's definitely part of IOS.
This adds a DiscIO dependency on Core which will be fixed in a
follow-up PR.
This prevents Dolphin from writing to /sys/uid.sys (on the host; root
partition) when installing a WAD before starting emulation, because
the session root is not initialized at that moment.
Incidentally, this also gets rid of a singleton.
This fixes a regression from 5.0-1556, but I don't know why
the regression occurred or why this fixes it. (Many games
failed to fully boot - I tried Metroid Prime and Twilight
Princess (both GC), and they never got to the title screen.)
These two functions load either a signed ticket or a raw ticket from the
emulated NAND.
The ticket signature skip is refactored out of the ticket writing in
order to be usable by the raw ticket reading function.
Refactor the existing DiscIO::AddTicket to not require the caller to
pass the requested title ID. We do not have the title ID in the ES case,
and it needs to be extracted from the ticket. Since this is always a
safe operation to do (title ID is always in the ticket), the
implementation is made default.
Instead of needing different switch cases for
converting countries to regions in multiple places,
we now only need a single country-to-region switch case
(in DiscIO/Enums.cpp), and we get a nice Region type.
We can't rely on the OS returning files and directories
in a deterministic order, so we should sort them on our own
if we want VolumeDirectory to work for movies and netplay.
These disc images are encrypted and signed using a different set of keys.
We only care about the master key, so we check the signature issuer. If
it matches the debug issuer, then we'll use the RVT-R key. Otherwise,
the previous set of common and Korean keys are used.
This would previously fail to compile when included in files that do not
include FileUtil.h due to lack of a type declaration.
This moves the constructor and destructor into the cpp file in order to
satisfy the requirements of unique_ptr construction and deletion. That is,
unique_ptr requires a concrete type at the point of construction and
destruction. If the constructor or destructor is left in the header, then
at the point of construction or destruction, IOFile will still be
considered an incomplete type, as unique_ptr's deleter will still only be
able to see the forward declaration, which it can't use.
These functions don't actually depend on any state from the class
instance, so they don't really belong in the header, and are just
an implementation detail.
At first there weren't many enums in Volume.h, but the number has been
growing, and I'm planning to add one more for regions. To not make
Volume.h too large, and to avoid needing to include Volume.h in code
that doesn't use volume objects, I'm moving the enums to a new file.
I'm also turning them into enum classes while I'm at it.
If banner loading fails once, it will very likely fail again.
Setting m_banner_loaded to true when banner loading fails
prevents LoadBannerFile from wasting time if it's called again.
Banner loading requires loading the file system, which takes a
noticeable amount of time, so this matters.
DriveReader::m_size was never initialized which was indirectly
causing CGameListCtrl to crash Dolphin when it tried to insert a
character at a negative index in a string.
Reading one sector at a time is very inefficient and appears to
be causing timing issues during boot so SectorReader has been
enhanced to support batching.
SectorReader has been given a working cache system.
instead, leave all the management with the NANDContentLoader.
for file data (directly on the NAND), this opens the file on-demand and
returns the requested chunk when asked for it.
for on-the-fly decrypted WAD data, we just keep the decoded buffer in
memory, like we've done before - except that we don't give away any objects
we don't want to.
Using the XPM format for images has become a maintenance problem because
people don't know how to create them. This commit removes all XPM images
and all C files that contain PNG images. DolphinWX now uses the PNGs
in the Resources folder instead, just like DolphinQt and DolphinQt2 do.
Callers can now check whether reads fail, either by checking the return
value or by setting the buffer to a known bad value and seeing if it stays
untouched. I've added error checks to FileSystemGCWii and Boot_BS2Emu,
but not to Boot since it doesn't check any of its other reads either.
Rather than rely on the developer to do the right thing,
just make the default behavior safely deallocate resources.
If shared semantics are ever needed in the future, the
constructor that takes a unique_ptr for shared_ptr can
be used.
If a disc image is malformed in a specific way, Dolphin
will try to allocate a lot of memory, making it crash.
To avoid that, this change adds an artificial limit for
the size of file systems that Dolphin will try to load.
The offset in a directory FileInfo is an FST offset, not a disc offset.
Treating it as a disc offset doesn't make sense. Directories don't take
up space outside of the FST, so they don't need to be marked as used. The
old behavior may have prevented some scrubbable areas from being scrubbed.
It's used by both the GUI to do things like install WADs and check up on
the system menu, in which case the global root should be used, and by
/dev/es, in which case the local one should. The latter isn't
*terribly* useful today, since no contents will ever be installed in
temporary roots (although it's still relevant for data directories), but
converting the whole thing makes sense because then it will Just Work
once the entire NAND is synced.
Because it would have been a bit of work to split it up (but I can if
desired), this commit also contains some basic cleanup of
NANDContentLoader:
(1) The useless interface class INANDContentLoader is removed and the
methods are changed to just return CNANDContentLoader (the only
implementation);
(2) CNANDContentManager is changed to use unique_ptr and cleaned up a
bit.
04fcb72 fixed an issue with reading the Wii FST size, but I found a second
issue when working on PR #2820 - the size must be shifted left by 2.
DiscScrubber and Boot already do this correctly using separate code.
read_size remained 0 when the "Read beyond end of disc" error occurs,
which made the while (nbytes) loop never end. As a fix, SeekToCluster
now explicitly sets available to 0 when the error occurs, and Read
checks for it.
GC games with long names store two variations of the name in
opening.bnr. This makes the shorter of those names available.
For volumes other than GC discs, prefer_long is ignored.
ISOFile and GameFile were using IsWiiDisc() and IsWadFile() to set
an enum value. The volume might as well return an enum directly.
I increased the Qt CACHE_REVISION because m_platform now is saved as u32
instead of int, but increasing the wx CACHE_REVISION is not necessary.
I tried to change messages that contained instructions for users,
while avoiding messages that are so technical that most users
wouldn't understand them even if they were in the right language.
Eventually, netplay will be able to use the host's NAND, but this could
still be useful in some cases; for TAS it definitely makes sense to have
a way to avoid using any preexisting NAND.
In terms of implementation: remove D_WIIUSER_IDX, which was just WIIROOT
+ "/", as well as some other indices which are pointless to have as
separate variables rather than just using the actual path (fixed, since
they're actual Wii NAND paths) at the call site. Then split off
D_SESSION_WIIROOT_IDX, which can point to the dummy NAND directory, from
D_WIIROOT_IDX, which always points to the "real" one the user
configured.
- FileSearch is now just one function, and it converts the original glob
into a regex on all platforms rather than relying on native Windows
pattern matching on there and a complete hack elsewhere. It now
supports recursion out of the box rather than manually expanding
into a full list of directories in multiple call sites.
- This adds a GCC >= 4.9 dependency due to older versions having
outright broken <regex>. MSVC is fine with it.
- ScanDirectoryTree returns the parent entry rather than filling parts
of it in via reference. The count is now stored in the entry like it
was for subdirectories.
- .glsl file search is now done with DoFileSearch.
- IOCTLV_READ_DIR now uses ScanDirectoryTree directly and sorts the
results after replacements for better determinism.
This is written so that the result of GetCompanyFromID never is cached
(except on Android?). Caching is unnecessary because the string can be
obtained quickly at runtime, and not caching it means that the cache
doesn't have to be invalidated when GetCompanyFromID is edited.
This is intended to better separate it from GetNames and to clarify
that this name originally wasn't meant to be shown to users.
The ISOProperties GUI is also updated, mainly because labeling
the long banner name "short name" was confusing.
Having some data available in banner loaders and some other data
data available in volumes gets messy, especially with GetNames(),
which is available in both but returns different results
depending on which one is used. This change drops support
for reading names and descriptions from Wii save data.
This makes the code cleaner and also leads to some user-visible changes:
The wx game properties will no longer let the user
select WAD languages that don't have any names.
The Qt game list will now display names using the languages
set in the configuration instead of always using
English for PAL GC games and Japanese for WADs.
If a WAD doesn't have a name in the user's preferred language,
English is now selected as a fallback before Japanese.
VolumeHandler is basically just a wrapper around a single IVolume object.
This change moves that object to DVDInterface, moves the Read32
function to IVolume, and gets rid of the rest of VolumeHandler.
This is good for performance when FileMontior is selected
but the log level only is set to notice or warning.
The ability to do this wasn't available until recently:
1ed41672f5
I actually fixed this once, but then I broke it in a
failed attempt to optimize. VolumeHandler::IsWii calls
CVolumeDirectory::Read(0x18, 4, &MagicWord, false);
* Added country flags for games from Netherlands and Spain
* Added separate category for Region Free games (Uses European flag as placeholder)
* Added missing country filter options in "show regions" menu
* Rearranged country filters for readability
* Incremented CACHE_REVISION
Also fixed various country filters not showing up as options in the "Show regions" menu.
It was only used for Windows XP and lower.
This also bumps the _WIN32_WINNT define in the stdafx precompiled headers to set the minimum version as Windows Vista.
Another issue from #334 with the casting moved from the output of
min to it's inputs.
This is a non-issue on 64 bit machines, but if dolphin is compiled
on an OS with size_t == u32 (say ARM) then remainingSize could be
truncated.
Restored the casting to the original order before #334.
When CFileSystemGCWii::GetFileName can't find a valid filename it would return nullptr.
nullptr as a std::string throws an assert within the std lib.
So return an empty string and check if it is empty or not
- Removed parentheses from the returns.
- Put the function declaration headers back on a single line.
- Make FindFileInfo's parameter a const string reference.
Now if more sound types are found, they just need to simply be added to
the unordered set.
- Also changed ShowSound() to IsSoundFile()
- Fixed IsSoundFile’s definition in FileMonitor.h. This whole time it
has been defined as a void method, when in reality it was a bool
function.
- Changed the FileMonitor’s string parameters to be constant references.
- remove unused variables
- reduce the scope where it makes sense
- correct limits (did you know that strcat()'s last parameter does not
include the \0 that is always added?)
- set some free()'d pointers to NULL
* Currently there is no DEBUGFAST configuration. Defining DEBUGFAST as a preprocessor definition in Base.props (or a global header) enables it for now, pending a better method. This was done to make managing the build harder to screw up. However it may not even be an issue anymore with the new .props usage.
* D3DX11SaveTextureToFile usage is dropped and not replaced.
* If you have $(DXSDK_DIR) in your global property sheets (Microsoft.Cpp.$(PlatformName).user), you need to remove it. The build will error out with a message if it's configured incorrectly.
* If you are on Windows 8 or above, you no longer need the June 2010 DirectX SDK installed to build dolphin. If you are in this situation, it is still required if you want your built binaries to be able to use XAudio2 and XInput on previous Windows versions.
* GLew updated to 1.10.0
* compiler switches added: /volatile:iso, /d2Zi+
* LTCG available via msbuild property: DolphinRelease
* SDL updated to 2.0.0
* All Externals (excl. OpenAL and SDL) are built from source.
* Now uses STL version of std::{mutex,condition_variable,thread}
* Now uses Build as root directory for *all* intermediate files
* Binary directory is populated as post-build msbuild action
* .gitignore is simplified
* UnitTests project is no longer compiled
(Intertwined enough that's it's easier to do in one patch.)
(1) /dev/es did not support state save, which could cause crashes and
incorrect behavior after loading.
(2) NANDContentLoader tried to read all of a title's contents into
memory when it was first opened. Two issues:
- If any contents were missing, it bailed out. However, with DLC,
only some of the contents may be downloaded, as determined by the
permission bits in the ticket. Instead, return an appropriate error
when a content is accessed that doesn't exist on the filesystem
(don't bother checking the permission bits though).
- Everything was loaded into memory - even if it consisted of 3 GB of
songs, which caused Dolphin to lag out for quite a while (and would
fail on 32-bit). Instead, open content on demand.
- Also killed off some trailing spaces/tabs.
- Updated the license header to be consistent with the rest of the project (All projects are now done moving over to this)
- Also, killed some dangling else's (where appropriate)
Now all the tab fixing is done. No more of this crap should be needed to be pushed. Rejoice!
Also, some tab/space mismatches removed from VideoOGL, and some places I missed in VideoDX[number] projects.
Now, the Core is literally the only project with tab/space mismatches (on a large scale).
Some cleanup throughout related code. (try to make logic in ISOFile understandable by a human)
Encode strings in UTF-8 rather than somehow trying to determine the encoding in the GUI code.

Build fix
Corrected a state bug where newly loaded dols did not have their patches applied.
Changed the HLE system to allow it to hook the beginning, the end or replace the entire function without changing the GC memory. Fixes Kirby's Return to Dreamland. Added a way to categorise the type of HLE function. Currently, there are debug, floating point, memory and generic functions. Added a HLE function for OSGetResetCode (Warm reset). Fixes the CSI games. Added a switch to disable all of the HLE functions if the idle skipping option is disabled.
Added some IOS version checks and code to clear memory before loading the dol.
Added support for Reset (from menu). Fixes Sam & Max.
Added an IOS check as games which use IOS older than IOS30 do not need to be HLE'd. Added some stubs for Reset to Menu and SSBB's load from disc partition. Fixed loading Fate of Atlantis from the Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings game.
Added argument detection and passing to the loaded dol. This fixes the Wii Sports+Wii Sports Resort bundle pack.
Added preliminary support for ES_LAUNCH (Wii Multi-boot games) by using HLE to hijack the OSBootDol function.
Conflicts:
Source/Core/DiscIO/Src/FileSystemGCWii.cpp
This allows users to easily check whether their Wii dump is corrupted or not
using the Dolphin properties window. Right click on a game, Properties,
Filesystem tab, then right click on the game partition and select "Check
partition integrity".
This may have some false negatives due to the unused clusters heuristic (see
the comment in VolumeWiiCrypted.cpp). False positives are unlikely.
Also, don't check to see if a directory is a wad file. They aren't. This removes an annoying and invalid debug assertion with the debug build.

and just operate on lists of object files instead.
This helps with LTO since LLVM/clang LTO is completely broken
by static libraries. It also helps identify symbol clashes
between components like the former plugins.
Many linkers also expect static libraries to form a strict DAG
which turns out be a difficult rule to uphold in practice,
especially since some of our platforms aren't picky about this.
LTO builds currently appears to crash at runtime because of
the static wx libs.

Most of the code dealing with the LogTypes namespace was C which lead to a
lot of nonsensical casting, so I have dumbed LOG_TYPE and LOG_LEVEL down to
plain C even though the move of wiiuse into Source means we don't currently
call GenericLog from C.
Set logging threshold to MAX_LOGLEVEL at startup so debug builds will also
p rint debugging messages before the GUI is running.
For some reason the way we use SetDefaultStyle doesn't play nice with wx 2.9
so we just get the default black text on a black background. Using a gray
background works around that problem, but I found it to also be much easier
on the eyes so I have switched the background color on all versions.

Some notes about this:
- config.h doesn't get written yet, so you'll have to use one generated by SCons
- dependency checking isn't really implemented, yet. Just some basic checks for OpenGL or ALSA, we need something more sophisticated though.
- the OpenGL plugin fails to load for some reason which I can't debug right now due to the libc debuginfo package version in openSUSE not matching the runtime packages
- there's even some support for generating install packages (rpm/deb/.. packages, NSIS installer, etc). It doesn't work properly right now though, since some paths seem to be hardcoded into Dolphin's source
- probably lots of other stuff I forgot... Just take a look at all the TODOs in the CMakeLists.txt files for more information ;P
Additionally, I added various files to the svn:ignore list.
tl;dr: Unless you are a dev or you're building binary packages, this commit shouldn't bother you :P

correct some parts of uid.sys as disc title ids are included
title in uid + tmd on nand is how the sysmenu knows which save files to look for.
IE games that are displayed in the disc channel at least once and have a save file will be
viewable in the sysmenu save manager

autoconfiguration tests. Some versions of gcc care enough about ANSI C
to complain about this.
Use the Linux install hierarchy conventions on other Unices as well.
XKeysymToString returns NULL on unknown keysyms, which is not a valid
std::string initializer.
There appears to be some disagreement regarding the second parameter
to iconv(). Some versions/installations have it as const, others don't.
Unfortunately, due to wonderful C++ brain damage, implicit conversion
from const to non-const doesn't work here.

Use SCons' convenient # shorthand for the root of our tree.
Also various minor cleanup of SConscripts.

Some general code cleanup, and removed a PanicAlert (made it a NOTICE_LOG instead) so that only one panic alert is shown when attempting to load from dvd/cdrom drives, and none are shown when "Show Drives" is selected from the menu.
Also removed the hack introduced in revision 5564 that prevents the GameListCtrl from being properly updated when a game is loaded from the command line or via the autostart feature of the debugger.

Not only does it change tons of files to switch to a new and non-working (it doesn't parse my ini files, at least) ini parser, it also reshuffles a lot of code and removes a plugin. The latter part is fine, but doing these two major switches in one revision, one of which is broken, is completely unacceptable. I said to merge tiny changes, not massive reworkings.

Using Unix tools to operate on a tree containing filename with spaces in them
is really annoying, so rename the handful of instances where there were spaces.
Host.cpp has never been used.
Games tend to lookup the following directories that we don't yet have anything
to put in, so prepopulate them in Data/User/Wii:
title/00010001
title/00010002
title/00010003
title/00010004
title/00010005
title/00010006
title/00010007

Set eol-style native on a number of text files which didn't already have it.

and Wii/sys directories if they do not already exist. This conflicts with
DolphinApp::OnInit (run after constructors) which populates the User tree
only if there isn't already something there.
Instead, set up the two directories in the Data tree.
With this change, sys/uid.sys still won't be created until the _second_ run
after a fresh install, so these file initializations should be moved out of
constructors so that they will be run after OnInit().

use appropriate extensions extracting compressed wii discs
check for tmd+tik for each title and list titles correctly for sysmenu versions <=0xE0
this will allow viewing of installed channels but they will not launch until ES_Launch is emulated
so far I have not been able to determine why later sysmenu versions do not display channels correctly
switching between system menu versions is as simple as rightclicking a system menu wad in the gamelist and installing to wiimenu than restarting

allows (among other things) installing the wiimenu from a wad extracted from the update partition of a game
currently you can choose Tools > Install Wii Menu or right click wad from the gamelist and install
restart required to have the Tools > Load Wii Menu work
I thought I had already commit this, I guess I forgot and it's just been sitting on my hdd :p

Fixed a segfault in linux when a cd/dvd drive is empty or invalid and "Boot from DVD" or "Show Drives" are selected.
On all platforms if a game fails to load show the game list again.
The other things here are essentially code cleanup and won't be noticeable by most users.
