SPDX standardizes how source code conveys its copyright and licensing
information. See https://spdx.github.io/spdx-spec/1-rationale/ . SPDX
tags are adopted in many large projects, including things like the Linux
kernel.

RVZ: Remove PURGE support
...
PURGE isn't especially useful, while requiring some annoying
special handling in the file format. If you want no compression,
use NONE. If you want fast compression, use Zstandard.
