# Project64 - A Nintendo 64 Emulator for Windows

**Ever since it's launch in 2001, Project64 has been the most popular Nintendo 64 emulator in the world. Written in the programming language C++, Project64 is the definitive experience for playing your favorite games from the classic console on your PC.**

## System Requirements

* OS
    * Windows XP or higher.
* CPU
    * Any CPU with SSE2 support.
* RAM
    * 512MB or more.
* Graphics card
    * DirectX 9 compatible or higher.
* Sound card
    * DirectX 9 compatible or higher.
* Storage
    * 2.28 MB available space

## How to use

<sub>(Games not included - do **NOT** ask for ROMs or where to download them.)</sub>

### Stable Builds

Installer for the latest stable release: https://www.pj64-emu.com/download/project64-latest

Follow the instructions in the setup window to complete the installation.

### Development Builds

Development Builds are based off the latest source at GitHub. This allows you to use the latest changes straight away, though these changes may not be fully tested and have issues. **Download at your own risk.**

<sub>Note: x64 builds are **NOT** recommended for regular use. They are incomplete and very experimental. Due to this, x64 builds are currently _slower_ than 32-bit builds.</sub>
