Greg V 3ab7e780d1 EGL: use unused 'n' argument for storing the config count (fixes #7953)
The 'n' argument was probably intended for the count, but it was unused.
The Wayland platform would check whether n would be non-zero (and
wouldn't initialize n with zero), so it would only succeed because it
was initialized with random garbage.

Themaister 077b108aa1 Vulkan: Fix potential crash when toggling fullscreen.
If we have HW rendering, and we toggle fullscreen while in the menu, we
don't have a ready HW image, so fall back to black dummy texture.

Themaister af534f0fa8 Vulkan maintenance fixes.
- Use VkBuffer instead of linear VkImage for staging uploads.
  Not guaranteed to be supported, and desktop IHVs recommend using
  buffers.

- Fix validation error where swapchain recreation with reuse of the old
  VkSwapchainKHR does not create a fence properly, leading to validation
  error next time that swapchain index is observed.

orbea 260ce526c2 Fix segfaults when starting vulkan without a working vulkan driver.
RetroArch will crash in several places when running vulkan in an
environment that does not have working vulkan drivers.

This should guard against those crashes and allow RetroArch to fail
safely in those cases.

Hans-Kristian Arntzen 16c797f057 Vulkan: Fix two validation errors.
- Mipgen was only transitioning the first miplevel to GENERAL.
  Fix the image barrier helper function to transition all levels and
  layers.

- Validation layer was complaining that a VkSwapchainKHR was not
  properly destroyed. After recycling the swapchain, destroy the old
  one.

Dwedit f3f0d4f787 Unify File Open and File Drag Drop code
* Code in `win32_drag_query_file` was split off into `win32_load_content_from_gui`
* File Open dialog now uses the same code as drag drop instead of the non-working code that was in there before.

twinaphex 2178b6d10f Vulkan temporary workaround for swapchain recycling (nvidia) -
Both swapchain recreation methods are proper andwithin the Vulkan specs.
The differnece is retroarch follows method (apparently proposed in
vulkan samples) that "hopes" the driver will reuse some of the old
swapchain resources, while the other method destroys everything and
recreates from scratch. At the moment on Nvidia drivers the second
method is stable while the first method is unreliable in all cases
today.

Kyle Brenneman 7baa75bee0 Add #ifdefs for trying to use eglGetPlatformDisplay.
Add #ifdefs for EGL_VERSION_1_5 and EGL_EXT_platform_base around the calls to
eglGetPlatformDisplay and eglGetPlatformDisplayEXT, respectively.

This avoids compiler errors when the EGL header files don't have the necessary
declarations for EGL 1.5 or EGL_EXT_platform_base.

Kyle Brenneman fcccc9dc0b Use eglGetPlatformDisplay when it's available.
Added a platform parameter to egl_init_context. If the caller provides a
platform other than EGL_NONE, then it will try to use eglGetPlatformDisplay or
eglGetPlatformDisplayEXT instead of eglGetDisplay.

If neither eglGetPlatformDisplay or eglGetPlatformDisplayEXT is supported, then
it will still fall back to calling eglGetDisplay.

Updated the Wayland, X11, and DRM callers to use the correct platform enum.
Those are the callers that don't just pass EGL_DEFAULT_DISPLAY as the native
display handle.

Calling eglGetDisplay with any value other than EGL_DEFAULT_DISPLAY is
inherently unreliable, because it requires the EGL implementation to guess a
platform type based on a (void *) pointer. Some implementations might not
identify a particular platform, or worse, might guess wrong.

Nicolas Guillaumin 05df632bd8 WIP: Fixes #2026 Screensaver suspend on Linux via Dbus
One some systems (tested with Gnome 3 on Arch Linux) the current method
of using `xdg-screensaver` to suspend the screensaver does not work.
Instead, using DBus to issue an `Inhibit` request is recommended.

The request returns a cookie that needs to be re-used to un-inhibit the
screensaver later. Additionally if the DBus connection is closed the
current inhibition is discarded. Thus, the DBus connection needs to stay
connected for the duration of the screenshot inhibition.

The code is heavily inspired from the [SDL 2.x
code](http://hg.libsdl.org/SDL/file/default/src/core/linux/SDL_dbus.c#l172).
I didn't call the SDL 2 code though since this it to fix the issue with
the GL driver, and I assume one would want to have screensaver inhibited
even when SDL 2 is not available (but GL is).

I've set "WIP" because:
* I haven't done C in a long time so my code is probably not great
* There's a dependency on DBus which I don't know is acceptable or
not
* I've put my code where I could to check it works, but `x11_common` may
not be the best place
* The code need and "init" and "deinit" kind of method as it needs to
initialise the DBus connection, and on deinit close it properly. I've
used `x11_connect` and `x11_window_destroy` but they don't sound like
the best choices.
* I'm a bit unclear as to what happens when "suspend screensaver" is
ticked on/off in the menu. This doesn't seem to call
`x11_suspend_screensaver` everytime, so I'm not sure if there's a hook
somewhere (as disabling screensaver suspend in the menu should cause a
DBus unhinibit request to be sent).
* Should I just call the SDL 2.x code (meaning that the GL driver would
depend on SDL 2.x at runtime)?

So, first of all are you ok with the approach, and if yes I'd gladly get
feedback about the code, how to architecture it and the best place to
put it.

* Now recognises old core used, if compatible.
* If not compatible, compatibile cores are scanned and used.
* Different compatible cores are now enumerated to be selected at will.
